Simulation Learning Center

The SLC uses high, medium and low fidelity human patient simulators and standardized patients as teaching and learning tools for nursing education. Through simulation, we create a realistic environment and a powerful learning experience that promotes cognitive, affective, physical and social development of the student.

Expert nurse clinicians teach in state-of-the-art labs using realistic patient scenarios across the nursing continuum. We also engage in interprofessional simulations with different disciplines and community colleagues.

The center allows undergraduate and graduate students from the College of Health and Human Services to practice beginning and advanced clinical skills, refine communication and develop critical thinking skills through challenging evidence-based simulation scenarios. Nurse practitioner students use the simulation lab as well to practice advanced assessments and skills.

Located on McNeill Hall's second and third floors, our 10,000-square foot simulation center offers experiential learning from low fidelity simulation manikins to advanced critical care with high fidelity manikins and standardized patients.
