Types of Workshops
Parts of a Thesis Paper
Fall 2025: September 10, 5-6pm in King Hall 202 with Dr. Nathan Pilkington
Attendees will learn about:
- Scholarly writing
- Typical thesis structure
- Stages of the writing process
- Dealing with writer's block
- Sharing your work
This workshop includes hands-on activities in which attendees examine completed student Honors theses/papers to understand the structure.
Academic Research and Writing Camp
Fall 2025: September 12, 8:30am-3pm in Discovery 1070 with Stephanie Crowe
Join us for a day of workshops and dedicated writing time with our research and writing
consultants. Virtual and in-person attendance options will be offered, and both breakfast and lunch
will be provided to in-person attendees. We are pursuing a digital badging option for attendees who
stay for the entire program. Please RSVP by filling out this survey if you plan to attend. If you
would like to order lunch, please sign up no later than Friday, September 5.
Preparing for Graduate School: How to Leverage Your Research Experience
Fall 2025: September 24, 5-6pm in King Hall 202 with Dr. Nathan Grove
If you are considering applying to graduate school, now or in the future, join us to hear insights
from Dr. Grove such as best practices for your application, such as letters of recommendation,
testing requirements, essays, etc. We will also discuss how to leverage the knowledge and skills you
gain while working on your Honors thesis.
Writing Literature Reviews
Fall 2025: October 2, 5-6pm in King Hall 201 with Dr. Danielle Daidone
This interactive workshop will help you with all stages of writing a literature review, from deciding what studies to include to how to word your sentences.
Prepare for your Defense
Fall 2025: November 4, 5-6pm in King Hall 201 with Dr. Bradley Tolar; November 12, 5-6pm in King Hall 202 with Dr. Allison Harris
