UNCW procedures require every unit on campus to work toward continuous improvement during each annual assessment cycle.
Units who report their outcomes, action steps and progress toward achieving their unit's mission are guided by a campus-wide administrative unit assessment process.
Administrative Unit Assessment
Cyclical micro-level administrative unit assessment activities are coordinated by the Institutional Research and Planning Office and in conjunction with assessment representatives across the university. Each assessment strategy is defined to ensure for appropriate and timely information to support continuous quality improvement and institutional renewal. All administrative units assess their effectiveness in meeting their mission and participate in UNCW's annual assessment process. Program outcomes align to the mission and strategic priorities of the university, and when appropriate, align to standards of professional organizations. Those units that support academic and student services also assess their co-curricula student learning outcomes.
