UNCW has a standardized process for the development, revision, and approval of University Policies.
"University Policies" consist of mandates or responsibilities that have broad application throughout the University, enhance the University's mission, change infrequently, promote operational efficiencies, reduce institutional risk, and/or help ensure coordinate compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Internal policies and procedures, on the other hand, are department-specific or are processes related to and/or authorized by a University Policy that establish how that University Policy should be carried out.
