Non-Traditional Students
Welcome to UNCW! We are so glad that you have chosen our university for your studies. We understand that Non-Traditional Students have different needs than our traditional students. About 20% of our total undergraduate population consider themselves to be non-traditional.
Here are some characteristics of a Non-Traditional Student:
- Not in traditional 18-23 age range
- Took a year or more off after high school before coming to college
- Work to support themselves or families
- Have dependents in their care (children, parents)
- Married/Divorced/Widowed
- Currently serving in the military or have served in the military
