Online Lecturer - Chemistry (General, Organic)

The University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for a full time lecturer to teach 12 contact hours per semester in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.  This position is a nine-month, non-tenure track position beginning in August 2014.  The position may be renewed on an annual basis.  

Responsibilities will include teaching general chemistry courses in our new, innovative, Online Accelerated Program (OAP).  These courses are designed and delivered utilizing best practices established by the Quality Matters program and are delivered in an asynchronous online environment during accelerated 7.5-week sessions.  At present, the only degree program offered through OAP is our B. S. in Nursing, RN to BS option.  The candidate may also be asked to teach traditional general chemistry and organic chemistry courses, their associated laboratories, and upper-level laboratories in their area of expertise.  A Ph.D. in chemistry (area open) and experience teaching general and/or organic chemistry are required.
