Description:  We are seeking a self-motivated, collaborative Reading Recovery Teacher Leader to assist the Director of Reading Recovery at UNCW in the supervision and training of Reading Recovery teachers through the i3 Scaling Up What Works Grant in five surrounding counties. This position requires daily travel within the region daily and occasionally to out-of-region locations. The selected candidate needs to have been trained at an approved Reading Recovery University Training Center and be currently or recently certified.

The selected candidate will: Teach two Reading Recovery students daily in a member host school, train  classes of Reading Recovery teachers, implement Reading Recovery in existing and new schools/districts, visit teachers-in-training to observe and to demonstrate teaching techniques, collect data, assist in data analysis and in the preparation of the annual site report, participate in/provide a variety of professional development activities, and serve as a resource for best practices in reading for member administrators and teachers.

This position is for nine months and follows the university academic calendar (mid-August to mid-May) with an additional month of contract service to meet the calendars of assigned school districts. Compensation commensurate with experience. Qualifications: Requirements include a master’s degree in education, with at least three years of classroom teaching experience. Must possess, or be eligible to secure, North Carolina teaching licensure, and be a certified Reading Recovery teacher leader. Must have a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record. The selected candidate will meet and adhere to the RRCNA Standards and Guidelines during the employment period.
