Cross-Cultural and/or Multicultural Psychology

The Department of Psychology invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Professor level in any area of cross-cultural and/or multicultural psychology.  UNCW is a 12,000 student comprehensive university located on the scenic North Carolina coast.  The department, which has 32 full-time faculty members, serves 600 undergraduate and 60 graduate majors. The department has a master's degree program with both general and clinical concentrations and is developing a doctoral program which is expected to be implemented in the next few years.

Applicants with research interests in the areas of race, racism, stereotyping, minority/cross-cultural aging or development, multicultural clinical issues, or the psychology of diversity are particularly encouraged to apply. We are especially interested in research focused on racial issues involving African-Americans or ethnic issues involving Hispanics/Latinos/Latinas. Applicants should have completed an earned doctorate in psychology by August 1, 2010 (ABD’s will be considered).  Although teaching and research are the primary responsibilities, service is also expected.  Salary is competitive.  The position will begin in August, 2010.
