The University College at UNCW seeks a professional academic advisor to be part of a team developing a pre-health professions advising program. This position will also have responsibility for coordinating advising for freshmen seeking to enter science majors. University College advisors provide academic advising and support to an advising load of 150-175 students from the time of their admission until they enter their majors. This advisor will be expected to provide accurate, current curricular information to assist students in academic program planning and goal clarification, with a concentration on students seeking to enter the science majors or the health professions. The advisor will be expected to teach a freshman seminar class each fall semester.

The position requires a Master’s degree. Experience working in a university environment is strongly preferred. Experience with academic advising in the sciences, pre-health advising or medically related experience is desirable.
