Professional History: Brief Vita (.pdf)

Research Area: Chemical Education

My work focuses on the application of technology to improve and extend chemistry instruction at both the graduate and undergraduate level. Current projects include revising Kitchen Chemistry laboratory experiments for general chemistry distance learners,, developing on-line lectures in physical chemistry, and promoting the UNCW Mobile Learning Environment centered around Tablet personal computers.

  • SCI 512-001(Advanced General Chemistry)

Course taught

I teach physical chemistry at both the undergraduate (CHM 321) and graduate (chm 521) level.. Advanced Physical Chemistry, (CHM 521) was made available as a distance learning course (web-based, no formal class meetings) for the first time in the Spring, 2007 semester, as an offering in our distance learning graduate program. I also teach general chemistry (CHM 101 and CHM 102). CHM 101 can be taken in a distance learning format in which laboratories are carried out at home.
