American Chica:
The Pleasures and Perils of the Bicultural Life
Acclaimed author and writer, Marie Arana will speak on campus Thursday, March 25 at 1:00pm in Lumina Theater.
She is the author of a memoir about her bicultural childhood, American Chica: Two Worlds, One Childhood (2001), a finalist for the 2001 National Book Award as well as the PEN/Memoir Award, and a winner of the Books for a Better Life Award. She is also the author of the novels Cellophane (2006) and Lima Nights (2009), both from The Dial Press.
