Academic Probation

What is Academic Probation?

An undergraduate is automatically placed on academic probation when the cumulative GPA drops below 2.0.

  • Students who fall within the academic probation category at the end of any semester will be limited to enrolling in no more than 14 hours in the following fall or spring semester or 4 credit hours in each summer session.
  • While on probation, a student must make at least a 2.33 term GPA or earn an overall GPA of a 2.0
  • When a student is placed on academic probation, it is the responsibility of the student to arrange regular meetings with his or her academic advisor or department chair/director to consider specific academic intervention strategies.
