Walking and Boarding
UNCW is a Pedestrian First campus. Meaning that all other traffic including cars, bikes and skateboards should give the right of way to anyone traveling on foot.
Students who commute to campus by foot or by skating should use caution when traveling to and from campus and when crossing busy intersections. There are crosswalks at the three major entrances to campus at S. College and Randall, S. College and Hurst and Racine and Randall. Pedestrians and skaters should always use the crosswalks and should never assume a vehicle is going to stop on their behalf.
