Caution: ITS Recommends Delaying the Upgrade of UNCW-Owned Apple Computers to macOS Ventura

Ventura, the latest Mac operating system, was recently released by Apple. ITS is asking the campus community to temporarily delay upgrading as we are currently in the process of testing it with all of our major campus applications to ensure there are no conflicts, and that the reported bugs in the beta release have been addressed.

It is important to note that if an upgrade to macOS Ventura takes place prior to ITS testing, and issues occur with the device, the process to roll back to the prior macOS is not simple and would require a data back-up and a complete reinstallation of the prior operating system.

ITS will announce once testing is complete and macOS Ventura is ready to be installed on campus computers.
