Extra Security for Qualtrics with 2FA, Starting June 30!

ITS, in collaboration with the Office of Institutional Research and Planning, is pleased to announce that Qualtrics, an online survey tool, is improving security by adding Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). Beginning June 30, when you access Qualtrics you will be prompted to verify your identity through the Duo application or text passcodes (just like you do with your UNCW email and many other UNCW applications). This will increase cyber security and protect your UNCW identity when using Qualtrics.

What are the benefits of 2FA?

2FA keeps your account secure even if your password is compromised and it also has many more benefits:

  • Gets us closer to the goal of changing your password once every 365 days as opposed to every 90 days!
  • Eliminates 99.9% of the risks that face your account, such as phishing, hackers and password brute-force attacks.
  • Helps protect the campus by delivering another layer of security to UNCW systems.

2FA supports our ongoing efforts to secure the personal information of UNCW accounts, as well as our university data. If you want to learn more about 2FA, please visit our 2FA at UNCW website.
