Enroll in Two-Factor Authentication or Join us for 2FA Tuesdays!

In an effort to increase cyber security and protect your UNCW identity, ITS is pleased to implement Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). All you need to do is enroll before November 10 at 11:59 p.m. Enrolling only takes a few minutes and comes with a lot of benefits for you and the campus. And, if you need it, we’re here to help you enroll through 2FA Tuesdays!

Please know that starting November 10, 2020, at 11:59 p.m., 2FA will be mandatory for all students, faculty and staff. Want to learn more about 2FA? Please visit

What does this mean for you?

  • If you have previously enrolled in 2FA (formally MFA), you do not need to do anything.
  • If you do not enroll in 2FA by November 10, 2020, at 11:59 p.m., you will be unable to access key services until you enroll.

Benefits of 2FA:

  • Get's us closer to the goal of changing your password once every 365 days as opposed to every 90 days!
  • Eliminates 99.9% of the risks that face your account, such as phishing, hackers and password brute-force attacks.
  • Helps protect the campus by delivering another layer of security to UNCW systems.

What are 2FA Tuesdays & How do I Enroll?

Every Tuesday through November 10, UNCW ITS will host drop-in Zoom sessions, called “2FA Tuesdays,” from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and assist students, faculty and staff with enrolling in Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). You can also enroll without assistance by visiting

How do 2FA Tuesdays work?

Choose a Tuesday from the list below, and join a Zoom session anytime between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. A representative from ITS will help you enroll in 2FA, download the DUO app and practice using it. Private consultations will be available during these sessions.
