Security Tip: Don't fall for the phish!

March, 2018

Emails that are sent with the purpose of getting the recipient to divulge personal information or to send money are known as phishing emails. Pay special attention to those that ask for account login information (which should never happen), emails that seem too good to be true, threatening emails, emails with urgency, or ones with awkward grammar or obvious spelling mistakes. Check the UNCW Phishbowl for examples of the latest reported emails, and notify the TAC (uncw.edu/tac) of any phishing emails you have received.
