Research Interest:

My work pivots around justice.  Research projects include studying racial inequality, particularly as it relates to prisons and courts, the war on drugs, and social control.  I try to connect this to local communities and work toward change.  The prison reform movement is also something I've been involved with - and I continue to work with formerly incarcerated people on prison reentry and reform issues.  Over the last few years, I've been able to develop the Inside Out Prison Exchange Program which involves university students and incarcerated men taking a sociology class together in a state prison.
