Sustainability initiatives and policies are stronger when a stakeholder's ideas and voice is considered. The Office of Sustainability prioritizes its work through collaborative synergies across campus.
The Sustainability Advisory Board & Sustainability Committee meet monthly, and the input and feedback gathered from these groups help steer and design sustainable policies and projects that help to make UNCW a stronger and more resilient campus.
The Sustainability Advisory Board helps facilitate projects and initiatives that support the mission and goals of the Office of Sustainability. These programs further the mission of sustainability in all aspects of the university's institutional culture, including operations, activities, academic programs, and community relationships. These voting members represent all areas of campus and guide the Office Sustainability in funding decisions, policy creation, and student initiatives.

The Sustainability Committee is comprised of faculty, staff, students, and community members who are passionate about sustainable initiatives, growth, and development. This committee meets to brainstorm ideas and discuss opportunities for improvement. It is also the main hub for knowing what's happening across campus when it comes to sustainability! This committee is essential in creating a voice that directs the focus of the Office of Sustainability in the upcoming years.
Membership is voluntary, but we ask that members attend at least 75% of the meetings.
Sustainability can be seen across campus. When you see our leaf on a sign or incorporated into a logo, you know it is a sustainable initiative. Any department or organization can request a leaf for any program, project, or research involving sustainability!
