As a student at UNCW, you might want to purchase merchandise and gear to fundraise or simply wear with pride. Here is UNCW's trademark policy and where you can find reliable, approved vendors.
UNCW logos are the property of UNCW. The use of logos, marks and verbiage must comply with UNCW policies. A Registered Student Organization is defined in the UNCW Code of Student Life, Section VI.
Purchase of UNCW Merchandise (Logos or Trademarked Verbiage)
Registered student groups may purchase merchandise bearing university marks, but all such purchases must be from licensed manufacturers and must be submitted and approved by UNCW Licensing prior to production.
These licensed vendors will submit your design to UNCW Licensing and let you know if any changes are needed.
Licensed Vendors
UNCW logo goods to be used by a division, department, or organization of the university must be obtained from a licensed manufacturer and submitted and approved by UNCW Licensing prior to production.
No department, division or organization may authorize the production of merchandise bearing the university's name or logo. They may not authorize or produce items that combine the logo with any other name or logo unless approved by UNCW Licensing and all appropriate administrative office(s).
Royalties
Products may be royalty exempt if the product is purchased by a campus department or official club/organization for internal use only and not for resale. Consideration for royalty exemption, including justification, may be submitted when the design is submitted for review by UNCW Licensing. All royalty exemptions are authorized by UNCW Licensing prior to production.
If merchandise is for resale to anyone else, even as fundraiser for charity, royalties will need to be paid.
