Volunteer Fair
We host a Non-Profit and Volunteer Fair each September for the campus community to learn about volunteer opportunities in the Wilmington area. We typically host 40+ community organizations and encourage students, faculty, and staff to attend and identify new opportunities to engage with the community. Seahawks that Serve Project Manager
Seahawks that Serve Project Managers serve as liaisons between UNCW and the community by coordinating service projects with local non-profit organizations, making volunteering easier and more accessible to UNCW students.
What are the requirements to apply for Seahawks that Serve Project Manager?
· A desire to make a positive impact and connect others to service-oriented leadership opportunities.· Minimum GPA of 2.5 (cumulative).
· Be in good standing with UNCW.
· Commitment for the role for two semesters.
· Must have flexibility to work some evenings and weekends as most service projects take place then.
What are the responsibilities of a Seahawks that Serve Project Manager?
· Collaboratively work with local non-profit organizations to plan and facilitate service experiences for UNCW students.· Attend weekly team meetings, retreats and trainings – typically one retreat at the start of each semester with training embedded into the retreats and weekly meetings
· Work 6-10 hours per week planning and facilitating projects on campus and in the community (office hours are held in the Campus Activities and Involvement Suite).

Community Internships
The Certified Internship Program (CIP) helps students get the most out of an internship by providing a framework to enhance knowledge gained through the experience. It is a non-credit bearing experience that is facilitated by the Career Center. Interested in doing your internship with a local non-profit? SECU Public Fellows Internship Program
The State Employees Credit Union (SECU) Public Fellows Internship Program is designed to connect interested, talented undergraduate students with meaningful on-the-job experience with a local agency or organization while providing a unique learning opportunity that allows the SECU Public Fellows Intern to give back to their community. The program provides up to twenty (20) in-state undergraduate students with a maximum stipend or payment of $5,000 per intern. UNCW has successfully received funding every year for the program since 2016, and the internship is open to all majors. It is a non-credit internship, however some students may receive permission to utilize the experience to meet major and/or course internship requirements. The placement sites vary each year, but past partner agencies include: the Carousel Center, Catholic Charities, Coastal Horizons, DREAMS, Education without Walls, First Fruit Ministries, the Harrelson Center, Hope for the Warriors, Novant Health, the Rape Crisis Center, the American Red Cross, Smart Start and the YWCA.
