About Us
Established in August 2022, the center's programs and mentorships are designed to strengthen cross-cultural relationships and provide opportunities for all students to learn more about Asian and Pacific Islander cultures.
Mission
The mission of the Asian Heritage Cultural Center at UNCW is to support student engagement with cross-cultural relationships through the awareness and understanding of Asian American and Pacific Islander heritage, cultures, and history through collaboration with academic and other support centers on campus by supporting cultural events, workshops and other outreach programs across campus and in the community.
Goals
- To support and build a more inclusive and welcoming student community, which encourages the celebration of diversity on campus.
- To provide academic support for our students through academic advising, mentoring, academic and service referrals, and academic liaison and advocacy services as they pursue their undergraduate and graduate degrees at UNCW.
- To listen to and support the needs of students to assist in adapting to the changing local and international environment in which learning takes place.
