The Precollege Mentoring Program is a college preparation and mentoring initiative for North Carolina high school students.
The goal of this two-year program is to identify high-achieving students from local high schools—particularly those with limited college experience—who aspire to pursue higher education at institutions like UNCW.
The Precollege Mentoring Program also engages UNCW faculty members, as well as graduate and undergraduate scholars.
The program is designed to encourage the highest level of education for high school sophomores who demonstrate promise, determination, discipline, and need.
Precollege Mentoring Program serves as a comprehensive support program that provides mentoring, college preparation seminars, tutoring, community service, and cultural enrichment activities to help high school mentees become compelling candidates for college admission and scholarship awards.
