What do we mean when we say, “sustainable innovation?”
EcoInnovate Sprint is focused on sustainable innovation, which refers to the process of developing and implementing new ideas, products, or practices that have a positive impact on environmental, social, and economic aspects.
- Examples include, but are not limited to: aquaculture solutions, agriculture technologies, water quality or purification, deep sea mapping, plastic alternatives, blue economy related businesses, ecotourism, renewable energy, monitoring tools, marine robotics, & waste management.
- In 2024 and 2025, teams presented solutions around water quality testing, disposal of plastic pollution, landfill capacity, EV stations in Wilmington, and software to raise awareness of drinking water quality.
