Larry Wray

Exec Director of Campus Life

Larry Wray leads a broad portfolio that encompasses Student Involvement and Leadership; Facilities and Business Services; Fraternity and Sorority Life; Student Community Engagement; Multicultural Student Success and Resource Centers; Conferences, Events, and Reservations; and Student Media. In this role, Larry is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and dynamic campus environment where students are empowered to connect, engage, and grow. Under his leadership, Campus Life has implemented numerous campus-wide initiatives that enhance student programming, build community, and strengthen students’ sense of belonging at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW).

With over two decades of service at UNCW, Larry brings a wealth of experience in student affairs and an in-depth understanding of campus life. His previous roles within the institution include Associate Director of Residence Life and Interim Director of Housing and Residence Life, where he played an instrumental role in enhancing student housing operations, developing supportive residential communities, and promoting student success through intentional programming and staff development.

Prior to joining UNCW, Larry held various student affairs positions at institutions across the United States, including Missouri State University in Springfield, the University of Alaska Anchorage, and the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Through these experiences, he developed expertise in student engagement, residential life, and leadership development with a focus on creating enriching and supportive environments that meet the evolving needs of diverse student populations.
