Yuanheng Wang
Assistant Professor
Dr. Yuanheng (Arthur) Wang is Assistant Professor of English at UNCW, where he teaches a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in applied linguistics, rhetoric/composition, and professional writing. His research has been published in the Journal of English for Academic Purposes, English for Specific Purposes, Research Methods in Applied Linguistics, Classroom Discourse, and Corpus-based Studies Across Humanities, as well as in different edited volumes.

Research Interests
Dr. Wang's research broadly concerns genre theory, research, and parctice; English for academic purposes; corpus-based approaches to discourse analysis and writing pedagogy; and second langauge writing theory, research, pedagogy, and teacher education. His current research systematically investigates the rhetorical, linguistic, and contextual dimensions of high-stakes, occluded academic promotional genres, as well as the application of generative artificial intelligence to corpus-based genre analysis. He has disseminated his research at international and national conferences, including American Association for Applied Linguistics (AAAL) Conference, American Association for Corpus Linguistics (AACL) Conference, and International Association of Applied Linguistics/AILA Conference, among others.
Professional Service
Dr. Wang currently serves on the Editorial Board of Studies in Applied Linguistics and TESOL (Teachers College, Columbia University). He also frequently reviews manuscripts from the following journals: TESOL Quarterly, Journal of English for Academic Purposes, English for Specific Purposes, Assessing Writing, Research Methods in Applied Linguistics, Linguistics and Education, Ampersand, Language and Education, and Journal of Second Language Studies, as well as proposals from conferences, such as TESOL and American Association for Corpus Linguistics (AACL).
