Robert C. Tripp

Assistant Director for New Student Advising

Rob Tripp has been in the service, research and education fields for over 20 years with experiences ranging from elementary school special education, experiential wilderness education, university administration, post-secondary teaching, and network administration. Rob is an alumni of UNCW (BA '92) and currently serves as the Assistant Director for New Student Advising for the Center for Academic Advising at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. His duties include administering the first-year and transfer seminar classes, managing a team of professional advisors, maintaining an academic advising caseload for undeclared students, and managing "End of Term" processing. Rob has an interest in understanding learning from a variety of perspectives especially as it relates to students in transition, the impact of learning style differentiation, and the effect of external societal events on educational systems and policy
