Jeannie M Sellick
Academic Advisor
Jeannie Sellick is a fledgling advisor at the Center for Academic Advising where she loves supporting early career students in discovering their passions and transforming their dreams into reality. Though a new member of the Seahawk community, Jeannie brings with her nearly a decade of experience in higher education. She previously worked as a professor of Religious Studies at Bowdoin College, Creighton University, and the University of Virginia where she taught courses on biblical literature, early Christianity, and gender & sexuality. Her academic interests lie within the intersection of religion & sexuality in the ancient mediterranean and her dissertation, "The Strongest Seed," revolves around ancient Christian constructions of male virginity. When not working with students, you can find Jeannie perfecting her buffalo wing recipe, watching Survivor, or playing with her geriatric dog, Missy Elliott.
