Asher Persin

Coordinator, Mohin Scholz LGBTQIA Center

Asher Persin (they/them) serves as the Center Coordinator for the Mohin-Scholz LGBTQIA+ Resource Center in the unit of Student Success and Resource Centers at UNCW. In this role, they develop and lead programs, initiatives, and resources that foster LGBTQIA+ student success and belonging. Their work is dedicated to creating a campus environment where all students feel affirmed, empowered, and valued—ensuring they thrive both academically and personally. Beyond programming, Asher advises student organizations, mentors student leaders, and collaborates with campus offices to address programs and practices that impact queer and trans students.

They are also a doctoral student in UNCW’s Ed.D. Educational Leadership program, researching LGBTQ+ curriculum and inclusive pedagogy in higher education.
