Melannie R. Pate

Lecturer

Dr. Melannie Pate earned her Master of Science in Applied Gerontology and a doctorate in Health Services Research, grounding her work in both the study of aging and the systems that shape health outcomes. Prior to her current role as an educator, Dr. Pate spent six years in the not-for-profit sector supporting older adults with dementia, their caregivers, and communities through programs and education to improve awareness, resources, and quality of life. Her teaching and scholarship remain guided by this experience, with a focus on translating evidence-based practices into sustainable, community-driven initiatives that reduce health disparities and promote well-being.
