Rachel Olsen

Temporary EPA/Faculty

Rachel Olsen is on faculty in the Cameron School of Business' Department of Management, as well as the Communication Studies Department in the College of Humanities, Social Sciences and the Arts. Her teaching explores creativity, innovation, human connection, chronemics and human communication in our rapidly changing world. She is known for dynamic courses that blend theory with practice—helping students develop both intellectual agility and emotional intelligence.

Rachel Olsen's classes emphasize experiential learning, encouraging students to think critically, communicate authentically, and approach challenges with curiosity and resilience. Drawing on her background as a published author, public speaker, and communication coach, Olsen equips students to express ideas with clarity and confidence across academic, professional, and creative contexts.

Olsen believes education is most powerful when it awakens both intellect and imagination—preparing students not only for careers, but for meaningful lives of impact, creation and connection.

Professional Service

Rachel Olsen has consulted and led workshops on communication styles, team collaboration, and creative problem-solving for local businesses, state entities, other institutions of learning, and the U.S. Marine Corps. She also serves as an official TEDx speaker coach for the region.
