Ron W. Murphy

Ron Murphy is a dedicated ESL instructor at the English Language Center, where he empowers international students to grow in both language proficiency and cultural confidence. With a Master of Arts in Educational Reading, Language, and Literacy Instruction and Professional Teaching Credentials from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, Ron brings both academic expertise and heartfelt dedication to his work. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Radio, Television, and Motion Pictures from UNC Chapel Hill and an Associate of Arts Degree from Mount Olive College.

Ron teaches beginner to advanced-level courses, including Listening and Speaking, Business English, and American Culture. He also leads university-level classes such as Professional Communication, Reading, Paragraph and Essay Writing, and Grammar in Context. His lessons are known for their blend of interactive projects, technology-enhanced activities, and real-world application.

Raised in North Carolina, Ron has always seen language as a bridge to connection. He finds deep fulfillment in supporting students as they discover their voice in English and navigate new cultural experiences. Inspired by the enthusiasm his students bring to the classroom, Ron creates a welcoming space where students feel comfortable learning and growing. Beyond the classroom, Ron is actively involved in cultural excursions and community events that allow students to explore American life firsthand. Whether introducing learners to local landmarks or guiding immersive language experiences, Ron uses every opportunity to deepen understanding and spark enthusiasm.
