Elaine E Mongno
Administrative Associate
Elaine Mongno joined UNCW in August 2022 as the Administrative Associate for the School of Health & Applied Human Sciences. Before moving to Wilmington, she spent 15 years as the Office Manager of a large Montessori school in Raleigh, supporting 850 students and their families. That role allowed her to build lasting, meaningful relationships—and she’s now thrilled to see many of her former students walking across UNCW’s campus as college students.
Elaine has long had a goal of working in higher education and is proud to support the mission of SHAHS and UNCW. She brings a deep appreciation for community and collaboration to her role and truly adores working alongside her SHAHS colleagues—from her staff leadership team to faculty—who are united in their commitment to student success.
Community Engagement
Elaine has been a volunteer coach with the Miracle League for over 15 years—first in Raleigh and now in Wilmington. The Miracle League provides children and adults with disabilities the opportunity to play baseball in an inclusive, supportive environment. One of the things that drew Elaine to SHAHS was its strong connection to service and community—values deeply reflected in its close partnership with Miracle League. It’s especially meaningful for her to see a sea of UNCW students at the field each weekend, stepping up to buddy her players and make the experience unforgettable for everyone involved.
