Jada Matthewson
Temporary EHRA Employee
Jada Matthewson is a first-year adviser at South Columbus High School, hailing from Dudley, North Carolina. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Jada brings positive, fun, and engaging energy to the Advise NC at UNCW team. In Spring 2024, she was initiated into the Pi Nu Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., where she proudly served as chapter president. She is a devoted member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., a community-conscious, action-oriented organization committed to service, scholarship, sisterhood, and finer womanhood.
Jada was drawn to her role as an adviser because she personally benefited from having a college adviser and believes that students should never feel discouraged from pursuing postsecondary options simply because they do not often see those opportunities around them. She is passionate about encouraging and motivating students to explore all postsecondary pathways, including military, college, trade programs, certification programs, or entering the workforce, so they can make informed and confident decisions about their future.
