Shannon A. Klotsko
Associate Professor
Dr. Klotsko's research focuses on continental margin evolution during the late Quaternary and understanding the impacts of processes such as sea level fluctuations, tectonics, ice sheets, and climate. Previous and current research topics include:
Ice sheet growth and decay
Glacial lake outburst floods
Submerged paleolandscapes
Fluvial drainages related to the peopling of the Americas
Recent tectonic deformation
Her research has been undertaken in the Beaufort Sea in the Arctic, Greenland, California, Oregon, Washington, New England, and North Carolina. She uses seafloor mapping tools and high resolution subbottom data along with sediment cores to study these topics.
