K.D. Joshi

Distinguished Professor

Dr. K. D. Joshi is The John B. Yowell Distinguished Professor in Information Systems. She received her Master of Science in Engineering from the University of Michigan and received her Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration (Decision Sciences and Information Systems) from the University of Kentucky. Her research focuses on underserved and underrepresented communities in the IT Workforce, Broadening Participation in STEM, Knowledge Management, Future of Human Learning in the Age of Intelligent Systems, Linguistic Justice and AI, Digital Labor Platforms, Algorithm Management, Value Sensitive Designs, and Health IT. Her published research is cited over 8,800 times (h-index of 36|i10-index of 72) according to Google Scholar, and her research has been featured in numerous media outlets such as PBS NewsHour, Salon.com, Vancouver Business Journal, London School of Economic Business Review, Puget Sound Business Journal, & Military.com. She has been a Principal Investigator or Co-Principal Investigator on grants totaling over $5M from the National Science Foundation (NSF). Her research has appeared in premier journals, including MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Journal of the AIS, Information Systems Journal, Journal of Strategic Information Systems, Journal of Information Technology, Decision Support Systems, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, and Communications of the ACM. She has served in numerous leadership positions at the AIS conferences and Journals. She is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the following two journals: The Data Base for Advances in Information Systems and Foundations & Trends in Information Systems.
