Emily C Hawarny

Emily currently serves as the Associate Director for Career Development to provide strategic guidance and compassionate leadership to the Career Development team, as well as collaborating with departments across campus to ensure career readiness is strategically embedded in all aspects of the UNCW experience.

Emily also served as the Assistant Director for Marketing and Technology in the UNCW Career Center from July 2023 - May 2026. In this role, she oversaw office communications, social media, website content, digital media, and print marketing materials. In addition, she acted as the liaison with Career Center technology vendors such as Handshake, Big Interview, and PathwayU to ensure the newest product updates and features are brought to UNCW students for career development resources.

Previously, Emily was a Career Counselor at Texas State University, and has additional experience in nonprofit and start-up work. She also served in the Peace Corps in the Philippines from 2010-2012. Emily is passionate about helping students reach their full potential and sharing the deeper impact of career development with all stakeholders.
