Arthur Frankel
Professor
Dr. Frankel has been teaching in social work schools since 1972, at the University of Louisville, Rutgers University, Yeshiva University, and at UNCW since 2001. He has been active in social action during his career, Including attending the March on Washington featuring Martin Luther King, participating in freedom rides supporting voter registration as part of the Freedom Movement , , and being part of antiwar movements. He is an expert in clinical social work, using techniques from the Behavioral Approach and Gestalt therapy. From 1966-1968, Dr. Frankel was in the Peace Corps in India. After that experience, he has visited India almost every year since then, establishing a sister school relationship with a social work school in Bangalore, India, at St. Joesph's University. Staring in 2015, he has taken social work student to India to experience their culture and make relationships with social work students there, including co-hosting an international conference there with St. Joseph's University School of Social Work. He is devoted to teaching social work, and supporting students and alumni in their social work journey.

Dr. Frankel has been consulting with community agencies throughout his career in the areas of drugs and alcohol, group work, parent training, supervision, and clinical social work.
