Emily B. Fournier was born in the Sandhills of North Carolina. She earned her B.A. in History from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2018. After graduation, Emily initially worked at a law office, gaining valuable professional experience. However, her passion for history led her to return to the field she truly loved. She joined the non-profit Friends of Fort Fisher, where she served as the shop manager and researcher, contributing to the preservation and interpretation of the historic site. In 2023, Emily was hired as a Student Records Coordinator at the University. In this position, she combines her strong organizational skills with her background in history to manage and support student records with precision and care. Emily’s journey reflects her dedication to both professional growth and personal passion. Whether in the legal field, history preservation, or academic administration, she has always sought to make a meaningful impact. She continues to thrive in her current role, helping ensure the success of all Seahawks going through their academic journeys.

Emily Fournier works in the Office of the Registrar, where she plays a crucial role in several administrative processes. One of her primary responsibilities is managing major and minor declaration portal maintenance, ensuring that students’ academic plans are accurately recorded and updated. She also oversees course drops and withdrawals, helping students navigate the formal process when they need to adjust their schedules or leave the University. Additionally, Emily handles the administration of departmental honors, coordinating the requirements and paperwork for students earning academic distinctions within their disciplines. Finally, she assists with visiting (non-degree) student registration, facilitating the enrollment of students who are taking courses without pursuing a degree at the institution. Through these tasks, Emily supports the smooth operation of the Registrar's office, helping students and faculty alike manage academic processes efficiently.
