David P. Echevarria
Temporary EHRA/Faculty
I have been fortunate to have had three career tracks over the last 60 years. I served for 12 years as a United States Marine Corps officer and naval aviator. I am also a Purple Heart Combat Veteran serving during the Viet Nam war. I would later serve in the Army National Guard for 15 years as a pilot flying Cobras and Huey's. All total some 4000 hours of flight time in 8 different aircraft; single and multi-engine fixed wing and helicopters.
My second career spanned 4 years as an entrepreneur operating a small restaurant in the historic district of Pensacola Florida. Over the next 5 years I would be a stock broker with Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner and Smith, a Production and Inventory Control Supervisor and Manager with Polaroid Corp., Bolt Beranek & Newman, and the Foxboro Company. Unhappily, I was caught up in the first great downsizing in corporate America as jobs began to be sent to the far east. I was encouraged to return to school for a PhD, which i did earning my degree in 1988 from UMASS Amherst.
I have been a full and part-time faculty at several major universities and am currently an adjunct instructor at the CSB, UNCW.

I later developed a model to examine where companies are located on their production function curves. I have also done research on stock market performance resulting in two areas; Using yield differentials to develop a market timing trading tool and a second examining the returns performance of a small sample of companies that regularly split their stock.
