Leslie Ruth Douglas

Academic Advisor

Leslie is an Academic Advisor within the College of Humanities, Social Sciences, and the Arts and a 201 Transfer Seminar University Instructor who uses a holistic, belonging-centered approach to support transfer students in navigating their academic journeys. A former high school dropout and adult learner who began their college career later in life, she brings a deeply empathetic, student-centered perspective to advising and teaching.

She has also held positions in the Student Accounts and Business Office at UNCW and CFCC, providing her with a strong understanding of institutional systems that impact students’ academic and financial experiences. Through inclusive practices and intentional relationship building, she fosters connection, confidence, and academic success while helping students feel seen, valued, and supported within the university community.
