Student Success Advisor

Lakisha Crews was born and raised in Henderson, North Carolina. She earned both her bachelor’s degree in Sport Science and Fitness Management and a master’s degree in Adult Education from North Carolina A&T State University. She later pursued a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy at Winston-Salem State University and received a certificate in Special Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Lakisha has a diverse professional background in education, workforce development, and editorial services. Her experience includes serving as an Exceptional Children Teacher with Rockingham County Schools, Assistant Managing Editor for the Journal of Best Practices in Health Professions Diversity, and Online Course Builder for Learning Management Systems. She has also worked as a Youth Coordinator for Rockingham and Caswell Counties, a Workforce Success Coach, and an adjunct instructor at Danville Community College.

Throughout her career, Lakisha has been recognized for her contributions and commitment to professional growth. She was honored with the Beginning Teacher Award for the 2019–2020 school year and holds several professional certifications, including Global Career Development Facilitator, Constructive Dialogue Facilitator, and Career Coaching.

Her areas of expertise include special education, instructional design, career development, and student engagement. Lakisha is passionate about helping individuals reach their full potential through education, mentorship, and community involvement.
