Christina M Chapman
Career Consultant
Christina joined the Career Center team in July 2025 and serves as a liaison to the College of Science and Engineering. She brings a strong foundation in career development and student engagement, shaped by her previous work with the Career Center at NC State University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
Christina earned her PhD in December 2024, where her research focused on career development learning and career decision self-efficacy. Her dissertation examined how structured career development initiatives such as resume building, career exploration, and reflective learning can enhance students’ confidence and preparedness for the professional world. Through a series of qualitative and quantitative studies, she demonstrated the value of integrating career development into academic curricula to support students’ transitions into their chosen fields.
With a deep commitment to student success, Christina is eager to bridge her background in higher education with practical career readiness strategies. She believes in embedding career development into the classroom experience, helping students connect their academic learning with future goals. Her work emphasizes the importance of continuous reflection and assessment to ensure career initiatives meet students’ evolving needs.
Christina is passionate about empowering students to identify their strengths, clarify their aspirations, and build the skills needed to thrive in today’s workforce.
