Francisco Brignole
Associate Professor
Originally from Argentina, I first came to the United States at age 19 to study and play college tennis at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa. I am now an Associate Professor of Spanish, specializing in exile studies, political violence, and post-revolutionary narratives. I co-edited 'Miradas desobedientes: María Teresa Andruetto ante la crítica' (Albatros, 2016) with Corinne Pubill and have written several articles on Southern Cone and Latin American literature and culture. My most recent one, published in 'Romance Quarterly' (2024), examines 'La caja Topper', Nicolás Gadano’s memoir about his upbringing as the son of urban guerrilla fighters in Argentina.
