Karen M Blain
Clinical Assistant Professor
Karen completed her studies at Texas State University where she completed a Bachelor's in Respiratory Care and later a Master of Science in Respiratory Care with a focus on Polysomnography. Karen is a member of the American Association of Respiratory Care and currently serving on the North Carolina Respiratory Society Board of Directors. She has been a member of the Honor Society Phi Kappa Phi and the Alpha Chi Honors Society.
Her career as a respiratory therapists focused on Neonatal and Pediatric Patients as well as Adult Intensive Care.

Research Interests
Karen has published research on the Academic Success of various demographic groups in an Associate level Respiratory Care Program. Her professional presentations include Ruminations on Student Success and Welcome to the Darkside, Dealing with Death and Dying.
Professional Service
Member of the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board and a member of the American Association of Respiratory Care. She also serves on the Respiratory Therapy PAC for Concorde Career College, San Antonio as the Distance Education Representative.
