Angela H Barr

Assistant Professor of Practice

Professor Angela Barr has been an Assistant Professor of Practice in the Master of Healthcare Administration program since 2023. She is a supporter of the program mission of preparing future healthcare leaders for a broad range of healthcare industries. She believes in the program curriculum that is competency focused to ensure that the information students are learning is both relevant and directly applicable to their chosen profession within healthcare. She believes in applied learning and the accelerated rigor of the MHA program for healthcare professionals.

After many years as a healthcare leader, Barr enjoys helping learners master the rigor of the MHA program while, simultaneously, supporting their goals of professional growth. Her expertise is in all aspects of long-term care and hospitals, and she has a passion for helping learners succeed in their career with strategic networking. Barr serves the North Carolina Health Care Facilities Association as a Committee Chair and the American Health Care Association as a Baldridge Quality Award Senior Examiner.

As a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator and Certified Assisted Living Administrator, Barr has a passion for the elderly and innovative care models that support quality of life and quality of care simultaneously.
