Ali L Arostegui

Assistant Director for Comprehensive Transition Postsecondary Program

Ali L. Arostegui is the Assistant Director for the Inclusive Futures Program at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. With over a decade of experience in special education and postsecondary transition programming, Ali has dedicated her career to creating inclusive educational opportunities that empower students with intellectual and developmental disabilities to succeed academically, socially, and professionally.
Before joining UNCW, Ali served as a Lead Teacher for the Occupational Course of Study (OCS) program in Cumberland and Pender County Schools, where she developed innovative blended-learning models and school-based occupational working labs that bridged classroom instruction with real-world experience. Ali also contributed to higher education through her work with Clemson University’s ClemsonLIFE program, supporting young adults in developing career and independent living skills.
Ali holds a Master of Science in Education with a specialization in Counseling Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Miami and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Minor in Child and Adolescent Development from Florida State University. She also holds certifications in Exceptional Children: General Curriculum (K-12) and Elementary Education (K-6).
At UNCW, Ali collaborates with campus and community partners to build a comprehensive and inclusive postsecondary education program, guiding students as they transition into college life while fostering a culture of inclusion. Her work reflects her lifelong commitment to creating transformative educational experiences and ensuring every student has the tools to thrive
