Dr. Mudassar I. Arain is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Clinical Research Program within the School of Nursing at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW). He brings a strong commitment to advancing healthcare through rigorous clinical research and collaborative innovation.
Dr. Arain holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacy with a dissertation focused on Pharmacovigilance Studies of Antihypertensive Medications, and a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from the University of Sindh, Jamshoro, Pakistan. He has completed Postdoctoral research at both the University of California San Diego and the University of Kansas, further refining his expertise in clinical trials and Metabolomics.
His research spans a wide range of focus areas, including Pharmacovigilance, Quality of Life (QoL) assessments, Diabetes, Hypertension, Cervical Cancer, Cognitive health, Medication adherence, and Biomarker/Metabolomic analysis. He has experience conducting both prospective and retrospective studies and has been actively involved in Phase III and IV clinical trials, often collaborating with Contract Research Organizations to ensure scientific rigor and regulatory compliance.
Dr. Arain also brings industry experience from his time as a Diabetes Educator in the medical department at Eli Lilly, where he gained critical insights into patient-centered pharmaceutical care. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and has presented his research at national and international conferences, contributing to the global discourse on medication safety and clinical outcomes.
