The NC State Engineering 2+2 Transfer Program offers students an opportunity to complete the first two years of an engineering degree at UNCW and then transfer to NC State University in Raleigh, NC to complete their undergraduate engineering degree in one of 16 academic programs.

Student Success

  • Since 2009, 600+ students have successfully transferred to the NC State College of Engineering. Greater than 95% remain enrolled or have graduated since the conclusion of the spring 2023 semester.
  • The average graduating GPA across all years is greater than 3.0.
  • Every fall semester 40-50 2+2 students transfer to NC State to complete their engineering degree. The average acceptance rate is 80% per admission cycle.

K-12 Outreach

In conjunction with the NC State Engineering Place, the Program Director is available to visit schools in southeastern North Carolina to conduct engineering outreach activities. North Carolina has adopted the Engineering Connections to K-12 Education and these Connections are aligned with the STEM Implementation Rubric Principles. If you are a K-12 educator or guidance counselor, please contact the Program Director to arrange a visit to a class, student organization, or parent-teacher association function.
