Physical Plant

Physical Plant refers to the group of highly skilled employees who are charged with maintaining all aspects of the UNCW campus. Each section serves a critical role in maintaining and improving UNCW facilities.The four primary sections are:

Physical Plant Administration

Physical Plant Administration oversees operations of the Physical Plant department. Their primary purpose is to manage daily operations and help ensure physical plant resources are used efficiently and effectively.

Maintenance and Operations

Maintenance and Operations is a collection of different shops, or trades, which specialize in different service areas. The shops within Physical Plant include the following:

• Electrical
• Fire Alarm
• HVAC
• Paint and Carpentry
• Physical Security
• Plumbing

Landscape Services

Landscape Services is responsible for maintaining developed campus grounds and paved areas. In addition, Landscape Services includes Motor Pool which provides service to campus vehicles and motorized equipment.

Housekeeping

The Housekeeping department consists of housekeeping, general utility, and floor care services. They are responsible for promoting a clean, healthy environment conductive to learning.
